BERTUAHPOS.COM, PEKANBARU – The barge belongs to PT Arara Abadi accused as a destroyer of mangrove trees on the Untut island, Labuhan Bilik Village , Teluk Meranti. Because the ships belonging to the company using the existing trees on the edge of the island as the mooring of the barge.

“The village government has warned verbally, we also sent a letter to the company through the related public relations. But so far, there is no response from them,” said the Village Head of Labuhan Bilik, Sudirman Ali, Friday (01/16/2015).

He said that the company had to make the mooring of barges from iron for them, do not tethered in the trees on the Untut Island.

“There are some kind of trees in Untut Island, such as mangrove, Api-Api, Langgadai, and Tumuh. But The trees at the edge of the island have been vandalized and died. Furthermore, there is abrasion  which occurred on beach and cliffs on the Untut island because of landslides,” he explained.

Whereas the presence of mangrove on the island, actually invite many people to come. The number of visitors  will greatly help the economy of local communities, he said.

“Of course, we hope that all relevant parties give an attention for the Untut island,” he added.(Vany)
